ITS–G-109-BELIBIS-POLOSThe Lesser Tree Duck measures 41 cm in length. It is mainly red-brown in colour, with a dark yellow neck.

Feeding primarily on plants, this duck lays 8-10 creamy in colour eggs on a riverbank, where it makes a nest made from grass. Sometimes the duck makes a hole in a tree which will be used as a nest. It inhabits Sumatra, Kalimantan and West Java.
