ITS–They are not just cartoons. Indeed, the artwork made by him embed high philosophy. I Made Somadita, the painter, is catching the similarity of human and animal behaviour, and then pouring his thoughts into his artwork. It is his concept.
I Made Somadita is a young and talented painter. Born on 17 May 1982, he studied at Indonesia Institute of Art, Bali. Since 1999, at the age of 17 years, he has involved in more than 40 exhibitions, solo and group, in both domestic and abroad. Recently, his paintings showed in Kompas, a national newspaper.
His artwork is unique. With cartoon ambience, it is the use of soft colour that represents the good animal behaviour, a side that humans should contemplate on more often. Within the animal kingdom, Made believes there is a fairness in which we can all learn from. The artwork concept of I Made Somadita is to fine true liberation within finality. His methods to achieve this may not always be certain, but his belief lies in the gradual process of contemplation and creative movement in order to sharpen one’s intuition . This in itself effects the growth of good nature.
