ITS–Joglosemar (standing for Jogyakarta, Solo, and Semarang) is now associated as tourism golden triangle due to the huge potential of those cities to attract tourist. The Joglosemar covers abundant tourist sites, range from cultural and historic sites (Borobudur Temple, Prambanan Temple, Ratu Boko Temple, Yogyakarta and Solo Palaces, ancient city and railway, etc.), natural fascination (Mount Merapi, Mount Merbabu, Mount Sindoro, Mount Sumbing, Telomoyo, Prau and Ungaran) to farming panorama. Having great potential, the three cities are targeted to attract 2 million foreign travelers and 11 million local tourists in 2019.
The target will be achieved by destination and event development, as well as infrastructure and accessibility development. For this purpose, 12 SOEs signed cooperation agreement (27/04/2016) to develop the regions with the tagline “Spirit Joglosemar”, witnessed by SOE Minister Rini Soemarno and Yogyakarta Governor Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X. The 12 SOEs PT Taman Wisata Candi (Persero), PT Pengembangan Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), PT Hotel Indonesia Natour (Persero), PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tb, Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero), PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero), Perkebunan Nusantara IX (Persero),Perum Perhutani, Perum Damri, PT Aerowisata, PT Patra Jasa.
The 12 SOEs are going to involve in various projects in accordance with each concerned sector. PT Hotel Indonesia will involve in accommodation development, PT Perum Damri in transportation, Perhutani in ecotourism and so forth. The cooperation between 12 SOEs will boost foreign visit along with the government policy to set the tourism as one of the main sectors of gaining national income.
